Help Children And Youth Succeed, Donate A Technology EquipmentIn an effort to improve opportunities for youth to gain access to technology, Life Education Center, Inc. plans to setup a functional technology lab for use by the hundreds of youth who are members of the Laurel Boys and Girls Club. Earlier this year, LBGC received 13 used computers and peripherals donated by the State of Maryland. Additional donated funds made it possible to upgrade and use seven of the computers. Completion of the lab will require at least 14 additional desktops and 5 laptops. Software and other equipment and materials are also needed to develop a fully-functional technology lab for youth. Literacy for the 21st Century youth must go beyond reading and writing; it must include an acceptable level of digital and computer competency. The lab will serve to train youth to use computers effectively for homework and research. In addition, teens and young adults can participate in workforce development programs to learn computer-related job skills and earn professional certification in preparation for entry level IT jobs. Help bridge the digital divide and empower at-risk youth by supporting our technology and "Computer for Kids" programs. Please donate a laptop, notebook, desktop, flat panel monitor, big screen television or projector to Life Education Center, Inc. Your generous donations will help local clients such as Laurel Boys and Girls Club, and other students and children from low-income families with their education, computer skills, homework and afterschool programs.
