Life Education Center, Inc. (LEC) is a 501(c )(3) community services organization incorporated in the state of Maryland in 2006. It was established to fulfill the mission of promoting personal and community health and wellness through education and habilitation programs. With a focus on self-improvement and individual empowerment as vehicles for community betterment, LEC collaborates with like-minded individuals and corporations to offer holistic interventions for targeted goals.

LEC’s foundation is built on the quality of its human resource assets and training skills. LEC’s partners are skilled and experienced in the fields of medicine, information technology, education, social work and mental health, and have extensive linkages to resources in the community.

At LEC we believe "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".  As such, programs include both preventive and remedial education tailored to individual needs. We emphasize positive youth development and offer programs that teach basic computer skills, financial literacy, personal health, and job readiness skills. These programs help participants become more self-reliant and productive in the community.

Economically and socially disadvantaged youth and adults who participate in our programs get an opportunity to develop appropriate social and practical job skills that allow them to qualify for more attractive legal means of livelihood. By enhancing participants' ability to qualify for jobs with livable wages, and providing tools to transition their personal lifestyles to accommodate a successful professional life, LEC's programs not only help reduce poverty and homelessness, but also lower crime, juvenile delinquency, incarceration and recidivism rates.
